ABOUT
Hi, I'm Hayley and I have been a dedicated primary school teacher in the Geelong region for 11 years. I have taught all year levels from prep to grade 6. I have always had a passion for the outdoors and animals. It has been a dream of mine to open up a farm space that individuals can come to and feel safe, confident, express themselves, gain new skills and create new relationships.
My favourite part of teaching is seeing the "light bulb moment" when a student gains a new skill, and seeing their smile. Seeing the smiles on the parents and how proud they are of their child is another highlight. I have achieved a certificate in Animal Assisted Therapy and believe that animals can hold the key to helping individuals gain happiness, trust, confidence and learn new skills. I am on the committee for a local Pony Club at which I also teach at once a month. I hold a current Working With Children Check and First Aid Certificate.
I have a strong interest in children with disabilities, in particular Autism and I have previously worked as an early intervention therapist for several autistic children. This also includes children with behaviour problems, learning difficulties and foster children.
My vision is to create individualised programs for participants to help them achieve their goals in life all while feeling comfortable and building relationships with the animals.
Creating a haven where they be themselves and feel pure freedom and happiness.
Communication between parents, carers and other health professionals is a high priority. I look forward to meeting my new clients and building a trusting relationship with them and the animals.
Here's to making dreams come true.
Hayley
